Giving new meaning to the phrase champagne tastes on a beer budget, MINI has announced the MINI Inspired By Goodwood. This limited edition Cooper will combine all of the driving enjoyment we appreciate about the Cooper S, with the interior opulence of MINI’s BMW corporate cousin—Rolls-Royce.

Alan Sheppard, Rolls-Royce interior designer, oversaw the development of what is easily the world’s most luxurious compact car. Limited to 1000 iterations, the MINI Inspired By Goodwood (hereinafter referred to as the Goodwood MINI) flosses walnut burr veneers on the instrument panel and door pulls, Cornsilk beige leather on the fascia, center console, seats, door sides and pillar trim; and deep lamb's wool fleece carpets.

Everything is installed with Rolls-Royce levels of attention to detail. All of the leathers and woods used in the car are hand-selected and assembled at the Rolls-Royce factory in Goodwood before being shipped to Oxford for installation in the Goodwood MINI. Additionally, the production process was fine-tuned by a team from Goodwood to insure the installations in Oxford meet Rolls-Royce standards.

Power comes from the 1.6-liter turbocharged inline four that powers the MINI Cooper S. With 181 horsepower and 177 foot-pounds of torque, the Goodwood MINI is 6.6-second car to sixty, taking advantage of the 192-ft-lbs of torque made available with the Overboost function.

Exterior features include a choice of one of two monochromatic paint colors; Diamond Black metallic (which is also a Rolls-Royce color) or Reef Blue metallic. For the Goodwood MINI, the roof and mirrors are painted the same color as the rest of the car. Although the Goodwood runs the turbo engine from the Cooper S, it uses the hood from the Cooper D. This keeps the Goodwood MINI’s appearance sleeker.

Pricing has yet to be announced, but is expected to be in excess of $70,000.
